CBP Officer Discharges Weapon in Road Rage Incident Near JFK

An on-duty U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer discharged his weapon during a road rage incident on the Van Wyck Expressway near JFK Airport on Tuesday morning. The officer claimed he was assaulted following a minor collision and fired in self-defense, but no injuries were reported. The other driver fled the scene before police arrived, and no arrests have been made. The incident caused lane closures and significant traffic delays for airport-bound drivers.
