In 2016, 22-year-old Cati Blauvelt was found murdered, leading to her husband, John Blauvelt, becoming the prime suspect. After fleeing with 17-year-old Hannah Thompson, who was infatuated with him, they were on the run for a month before Thompson returned home and later provided crucial information to authorities. John was arrested in 2022, convicted of murder, and sentenced to life in prison, while Thompson faced charges but pleaded guilty to lesser offenses. Cati’s mother continues to mourn her daughter’s violent death.
