Cargill and Hafnia form bunkering joint venture

Cargill’s Ocean Transportation business and Hafnia have partnered to launch Seascale Energy, a joint venture merging Cargill’s Pure Marine Fuels and Hafnia’s Bunker Alliance, aiming to lead the energy transition in shipping and improve transparency and decarbonisation. Representing 7.5m metric tons in bunkering volume, Seascale Energy is equally owned by Cargill and Hafnia, focusing on simplifying and innovating bunkering complexities to benefit stakeholders in the maritime sector. This collaboration follows Maersk Tankers’ withdrawal from a previous bunker venture with Cargill, emphasizing a commitment to efficiency and industry challenges.
