Saudi Arabia announced the opening of the first part of the Riyadh Metro, with three lines set to launch on December 1 and the full six-line, 176-kilometre network to be operational by January 5. The driverless metro system, designed to transport over 3.6 million passengers, will feature trains manufactured by Siemens, Bombardier, and Alstom, with a modern design by Avant Premiere.
