A major electricity outage affecting around 160,000 homes in Cannes and surrounding areas was attributed to suspected arson at a substation in Tanneron, disrupting the final day of the Cannes Film Festival. Although power has been restored, the network remains fragile, prompting the festival to switch to an alternative electricity supply to maintain events, including the closing ceremony. Traffic lights were out across Cannes, causing delays in transportation, with multiple train services canceled or delayed due to the incident.
