A sailor with the Royal Canadian Navy died after a small-boat incident in Halifax’s Bedford Basin, where a rigid-hull inflatable capsized at 10 p.m. on Friday. The Joint Rescue Co-ordination Centre Halifax coordinated a rescue, with one sailor treated and released while another could not be resuscitated. The incident is under investigation by Military Police, and the sailor’s identity is being withheld as condolences are extended to their family, friends, and fellow sailors by Commodore Jacob French.
