Calgarians Kailey Allan and Beattie Podulsky will make history as the first Canadian women to compete in the inaugural women’s doubles luge event at the 2026 Olympics in Cortina, Italy. Their partnership formed during a summer trip to New Zealand, where they developed communication skills through shared experiences, including some comical mishaps. Competing in their first season together, they achieved a bronze medal in the team relay at the 2025 world championship in Whistler, B.C. Despite the challenges of learning to slide together, they aim to inspire young women in the sport.
