Canada foiled Iran plot to assassinate former minister

Canadian authorities recently foiled an alleged Iranian plot to assassinate former justice minister Irwin Cotler, a strong critic of Tehran, according to his organization. Cotler, who retired in 2015, was informed of the threat and two suspects were tracked by authorities. The House of Commons passed a motion condemning the death threats against Cotler orchestrated by a foreign regime, as he had been advocating globally to have Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps listed as a terrorist entity.
