A rapidly spreading brush fire, known as the Canyon Fire, ignited near Lake Piru north of Los Angeles, forcing the evacuation of around 4,200 residents and threatening 1,400 structures. The fire, fueled by hot, dry weather and rugged terrain, grew to over 2.3 square miles within hours and remains uncontained, with over 250 firefighters deployed to manage the situation.
