A California engineer, Brandon Dawson, won the 52nd World Championship Pumpkin Weigh-Off with a giant pumpkin weighing 2,346 pounds, securing a $20,000 prize. After losing by just 6 pounds the previous year, Dawson, who enjoys involving his young children in the pumpkin-growing process, celebrated his victory as last year’s record-holder was unable to compete due to damage to his gourd.
