Teenager dies after car hit by falling tree

A 19-year-old teenager died after his car was hit by a falling tree during Storm Éowyn while driving on the B743 in Mauchline, East Ayrshire. He was taken to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital but succumbed to his injuries the following day. This tragic incident occurred just before a red weather alert was issued in Scotland, making him the second victim of the storm after a 20-year-old man in County Donegal also died from a similar incident.
