Woman gives birth to stranger’s baby in Australia embryo mix-up

A woman in Australia was implanted with another woman’s embryos by mistake at Monash IVF in Brisbane, resulting in the birth of a stranger’s baby. CEO Michael Knaap apologized for the error, which was attributed to human error. This incident follows a previous settlement of A$56m for destroying viable embryos due to faulty genetic testing, and a subsequent investigation has been launched to address the mix-up and ensure it does not happen again.
