Summary
A 28-year-old dual US-German citizen, Joseph Neumayer, was arrested at JFK Airport for allegedly attempting to burn down the US embassy in Tel Aviv, Israel. Neumayer was deported from Israel after being found with explosive devices and had previously posted threats on social media, including calls to “burn down the embassy” and threats against President Trump. Following his arrest, he faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, coinciding with heightened tensions after the recent shooting of two Israeli embassy staff members in Washington, D.C.
