In County Monaghan, the body searching for the remains of the Disappeared conducted an exhumation at Annyalla cemetery, with suspicions linking the activity to the 1972 disappearance of Joe Lynskey, who was abducted and murdered by the IRA during The Troubles. The Lynskey family remains cautiously hopeful as the process to identify the remains found in the grave begins, with the WAVE Trauma Centre expressing support for the family’s long-awaited closure and the return of Mr. Lynskey’s remains for a proper burial.
