This change, announced by Foreign Secretary David Lammy during a visit to Rabat, is linked to securing investment opportunities for the 2030 men’s football World Cup and enhancing bilateral infrastructure collaboration. Algeria, opposing this position, expressed regret, citing that Morocco’s plan has not been presented for negotiation, amid ongoing tensions over the region’s rich resources and historical conflicts.
