Two arrested after Christmas fairground ride crashes to the ground

Two men aged 55 and 21 have been arrested after a Christmas fairground ride crashed in Birmingham city centre, injuring two women and causing 11 others to be assessed by paramedics. The men were arrested on suspicion of perverting the course of justice and obstructing officers, and police are assisting with a Health & Safety Executive investigation. The ride, City Star Flyer, dropped to the ground while in operation, prompting concerns about safety and calls for stricter regulations.
