Edinburgh Fringe’s annual funniest joke award has been scrapped for this year’s comedy festival, organisers have confirmed (no joke).
The award, established in 2008 and typically presented by the TV channel U&Dave, will not be held this year as the channel’s bosses focus on evolving their commissioning strategy. They emphasized their ongoing commitment to promoting comedy in innovative ways despite pausing the award.
