Food charity pauses Gaza work after staff killed in Israeli strike

World Central Kitchen (WCK) has paused its operations in Gaza after a vehicle carrying staff was hit by an Israeli air strike, resulting in the deaths of five people, including three WCK employees. The IDF stated that the target of the strike was involved in the 7 October attacks on Israel and demanded an investigation into the hiring of workers with ties to terrorist activity. WCK expressed heartbreak over the incident, stating it had no prior knowledge of any staff having connections to the attacks, and announced a temporary halt to its work in Gaza.
