The Central Electoral Bureau’s decision has sparked violent clashes between his supporters and police, with tear gas being fired. Georgescu, who has been previously arrested on charges of attempting to overthrow the constitutional order, now has 24 hours to appeal the ban and awaits a ruling within 72 hours.
