Makhosazana Dlomo on a mission to grow the sport

Makhosazana “Khosi” Dlomo, a 19-year-old, is breaking barriers as South Africa’s only black participant in tent pegging, a traditional cavalry sport, and the sole registered black female competitor in sub-Saharan Africa. This sport is often perceived as elite and dominated by white, middle-class riders, but Dlomo is committed to changing its visibility and inclusivity in South Africa’s sporting culture. BBC Sport Africa recently interviewed her to discuss her journey and her aspirations for the future of tent pegging in the country.
