Spurs sack manager Postecoglou after Europa League win

Ange Postecoglou has been dismissed as Tottenham manager just 16 days after securing the club’s first major trophy in 17 years with a 1-0 victory over Manchester United in the Europa League final. Despite this success, Spurs endured their worst Premier League season, finishing 17th with 22 losses in 38 matches. Postecoglou’s departure comes two years after his appointment from Celtic, with Brentford’s Thomas Frank and former Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino among the candidates to replace him.
