Achraf Hakimi, the right-back for Paris St-Germain and Morocco, has been sidelined for “several weeks” due to a severe left ankle sprain sustained in a Champions League match against Bayern Munich. This injury is a significant concern for Morocco’s coach, Walid Regragui, ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, starting on December 21. Hakimi played a key role in Morocco’s historic World Cup run and is a contender for the African Footballer of the Year Award. He was also recently named in this year’s Fifpro World XI.
