Tesco to trial giving away expiring food to shoppers

Tesco is trialling giving away expiring food to customers for free at the end of the day in some Express stores to reduce food waste, offering items after 21:30 that have already been discounted. The supermarket will first offer the food to charities and employees before customers can take it, with the trial starting in a small number of locations in the UK.
