Wales, has introduced new safety rules for tattoo artists, requiring them to meet stricter hygiene and safety standards and renew their license every three years. This has led to concerns that tattoo prices may increase to accommodate the additional costs. The new regulations, which also apply to acupuncture, electrolysis, piercing, and semi-permanent makeup procedures, aim to improve infection prevention and control. Despite initial concerns about the financial burden, many in the industry support the changes as a way to ensure a higher standard of safety for customers.
