Prize-winning Australian author Craig Silvey, known for his novel Jasper Jones, has been charged with possessing and distributing child exploitation material following a police raid at his Perth home. The 43-year-old was arrested while allegedly engaging with other offenders online and appeared in Fremantle Magistrates Court without entering a plea, receiving bail. Jasper Jones has sold over 500,000 copies and was adapted into a film in 2017.
