Germany’s Defence Minister Boris Pistorius cautioned Ukraine against accepting a US proposal that would require significant territorial concessions to achieve a ceasefire with Russia, labeling it a “capitulation.” Despite understanding the need for potential territorial compromises, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has firmly rejected any concessions until a ceasefire is established. Recent discussions reveal conflicting proposals between the US and European allies regarding Ukraine’s future, including security guarantees and control of occupied territories, as the conflict continues with Moscow controlling nearly 20% of Ukraine.
