UN Security Council Supports Trump’s Gaza Plan
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

The UN Security Council approved a US-drafted resolution endorsing Donald Trump’s 20-point plan for Gaza, which includes establishing an International Stabilisation Force (ISF) to assist in demilitarization and civilian protection. Supported by 13 nations, with Russia and China abstaining, Hamas rejected the resolution, claiming it undermines Palestinian rights and demands. The plan also proposes a newly trained Palestinian police force and financing for Gaza’s reconstruction, while indicating a potential path to Palestinian statehood. As of October 2023, the ongoing conflict has resulted in significant casualties, with over 69,000 Palestinians reported killed.
