Three migrants die attempting to cross Channel

Three migrants died while attempting to cross the English Channel in a small boat near Sangatte, with 45 others suffering from hypothermia and four taken to hospital. It has been the deadliest year for Channel crossings, with over 36,000 people making the journey in small boats so far this year, resulting in 77 deaths. The Home Office is committed to dismantling people smuggling operations and stopping the dangerous crossings.
