Twelve historical artefacts, including crowns and shields, have been returned to Ethiopia after being kept by a German family for over a century. Collected in the 1920s by diplomat Franz Weiss and his wife, the items were handed to the Institute of Ethiopian Studies in Addis Ababa. The family aimed to preserve and share the artefacts, symbolizing Germany’s friendly ties with Ethiopia. Ethiopia’s Tourism Minister highlighted the return as a significant step in safeguarding cultural heritage and pledged continued efforts to reclaim looted artefacts globally.
