Former England fast bowler Lawrence dies aged 61

Former England and Gloucestershire fast bowler David ‘Syd’ Lawrence has died at 61, having been diagnosed with motor neurone disease last year. The first British-born black cricketer to represent England, he played five Tests and took 625 wickets in 280 matches, and was recently appointed MBE for raising awareness of MND.
