British couple held by Taliban describe dire conditions in Kabul jail

Peter Reynolds, 79, detained in a Kabul prison with his wife Barbie since February, describes the dire conditions as “the nearest thing to hell I can imagine”. In a phone call from Pul-e-Charkhi maximum-security jail, he expresses fears for Barbie’s safety in the women’s section. The couple’s captivity by the Taliban has been ongoing for over nine weeks.
