Breakdowns ruin any minor progress Rangers had made

The New York Rangers lost a 5-4 overtime game to Dallas at the Garden, squandering a 3-0 first-period lead and a 4-3 third-period lead. Despite earning a point in their best four-game stretch since November, they fell further behind in the playoff race and also lost Filip Chytil to an upper-body injury. Head coach Peter Laviolette stated that Chytil is being evaluated for his injury.
