Brazil revokes visa of Trump adviser seeking Bolsonaro prison visit

Brazilian President Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva has revoked the visa of Darren Beattie, a far-right adviser to former U.S. President Donald Trump, who intended to visit ex-President Jair Bolsonaro in prison. Lula equated this action to the U.S. revoking Brazilian officials’ visas and cited Beattie’s misrepresentation of the visit’s purpose. Bolsonaro, serving a 27-year sentence for his role in a coup plot, has recently been hospitalized with pneumonia.
