A 14-year-old boy has been charged with first-degree murder following the fatal stabbing of an elderly woman in Pickering, Ontario. The incident occurred outside her home, and despite being rushed to a trauma center, she was pronounced dead. Police reported a brief interaction between the victim and suspect prior to the attack, which was described as a “sadistic and cowardly unprovoked” act, captured on video; the suspect will not be named due to youth protection laws and is scheduled to appear in court on June 20.
