A 16-year-old boy testified that he attacked 49-year-old Alexander Cashford with stones and a bottle, believing police would not intervene after Cashford allegedly lured him and two teens under the pretense of meeting a girl. The trio, who had met Cashford at an arcade, are on trial for murder in Woolwich Crown Court, with Cashford fatally injured during the altercation. The boy admitted to wanting to hurt Cashford, claiming he thought it would not cause serious injury. Eyewitnesses reported seeing the teenagers chase Cashford, who was later found face down in mud with significant injuries.
