A five-year-old boy named Hinata Goto tragically died after becoming trapped in a conveyor belt mechanism at the Asarigawa Onsen Ski Resort in Hokkaido, Japan, while skiing with his mother. His arm was caught as he fell near the lift’s top, and despite his mother’s attempt to stop the escalator, it continued to operate for several seconds. Emergency services were called, and firefighters had to dismantle the equipment to free him, but he was pronounced dead at the hospital. Officials reported that the escalator’s emergency mechanism failed to activate, raising concerns about safety checks at the resort.
