The release date for Borderlands 4 has been moved up from September 23rd to September 12th, as announced by Gearbox Interactive CEO Randy Pitchford in a video that was briefly deleted and reposted. Pitchford attributed the change to the game’s successful development, but speculation arose that the adjustment aims to avoid competition with GTA VI, which is expected to launch in Fall 2025. Additionally, Pitchford revealed that Sony will showcase a 20-minute State of Play presentation regarding Borderlands 4 on April 30th at 2 PM PT/5 PM ET.
