Egypt to Block Roblox for All Users

Egypt has banned the popular children’s video game Roblox, with the Supreme Council for Media Regulation collaborating with the National Telecommunications Regulatory Authority for enforcement. Senator Walaa Hermas Radwandid raised concerns about the platform’s potential risks, including communication with strangers and psychological effects on children. Roblox, which claims to have strong safety measures, is among several countries facing bans due to concerns over content. The platform significantly contributes to the economy in the MENA region, having added $15 million to GDP from 2021 to 2024.
