Blue Origin Halts Space Tourist Flights for NASA Lunar Lander Work

Blue Origin is halting its space tourism flights for at least two years to concentrate on developing human lunar capabilities for NASA’s Artemis program. The company is tasked with creating landers for the Artemis III and V missions, following NASA’s request for an alternative lander after SpaceX faced delays. New Shepard, which has flown 98 passengers since its first tourist flight in 2021, will not launch again until the lunar projects are underway. Jeff Bezos was among the first tourists on New Shepard, which allows brief experiences of weightlessness.
