Tameka Bostick, 42, decided to learn to swim, inspired by her daughter’s wish for her to try first, as she grew up without access to pools. This initiative is part of Black People Will Swim, founded by Paulana Lamonier to combat the historical stigma and drowning disparities faced by Black communities, advocating for increased access to swimming education and resources.
