Rescuers at the Northern Lights Wildlife Society hailed the survival of a black bear cub near Dawson Creek, B.C., as a Christmas miracle after she was found burned and buried in snow on December 20. Despite severe injuries, including burns to her face and paws, the cub was transported to safety thanks to volunteers. Manager Angelika Langen reported that the cub’s survival is remarkable but emphasized the long healing process ahead. It remains uncertain if her mother was present during the incident, as hibernating bears often den together.
