Kananaskis, Alta, is under heightened security due to the G7 summit, restricting access to much of the backcountry. Despite encountering multiple checkpoints and police inquiries during a bike ride, the overall security presence felt less intrusive than anticipated, allowing for a glimpse of the area while navigating the closed routes and enjoying the natural surroundings.
