Big Lots Store Reopenings Post-Bankruptcy
Big Lots is set to reopen 132 stores in May as part of its recovery strategy following its bankruptcy filing in September last year and subsequent acquisition by Gordon Brothers Retail Partners. The stores, which will operate under the Big Lots brand, previously slated for closure, are being revived by Variety Wholesalers, which aims to enhance accessibility across 14 states, with significant openings in North Carolina, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. The move follows positive customer feedback after earlier store reopenings in April, showcasing a renewed focus on fresh inventory and customer engagement.
