‘Beyond The Gates’ Star Karla Mosley On Why She “Stepped Away” From Trans Role On ‘The Bold & The Beautiful’

Karla Mosley is back in daytime TV as Dani Dupree in CBS’s Beyond the Gates, portraying a former model turned momager. Previously known for her role as Maya Avant in The Bold and the Beautiful, Mosley declined to play a trans character again, despite the impact Maya had in raising awareness and starting conversations about transgender issues. While she won’t take on another trans role, Mosley is open to portraying characters with similar significance and depth in the future.
