In a season marked by injuries for the Minnesota Wild, the lead-up to the playoffs saw more roster additions than subtractions, with defensemen Jon Merrill and Declan Chisholm being healthy scratches for Game 1 against Vegas. Coach John Hynes acknowledged the difficulty of such decisions but emphasized the importance of team cohesion and depth, as injuries are common in playoff series. Additionally, forward Devin Shore was recalled from the AHL, adding valuable center depth as the Wild navigated a challenging March schedule and prepared for the playoff intensity ahead.
