Bécancour port to expand to serve battery sector

The Port of Bécancour is set to expand to accommodate the Vallée de la transition énergétique, with Quebec and Ottawa investing $164 million each to fund the construction of a new wharf, expansion of two existing wharves, and development of additional infrastructure and storage areas. This joint federal-provincial project aims to support the development of the energy transition valley, with the Port of Bécancour being one of the few port facilities owned by both levels of government, as opposed to being solely under federal jurisdiction.
