NEW DELHI: Former Pakistan captain Babar Azam on Wednesday achieved a remarkable feat by becoming the fastest batter to score 10,000 runs in the T20 format.Babar accomplished this milestone in just 271 innings, surpassing the previous record held by former West Indies star Chris Gayle, who took 285 innings to attain the feat. India’s Virat Kohli is third on the list, having taken 299 innings.Playing for Peshawar Zalmi in the Pakistan Super League (PSL), Babar needed only six runs to set the world record and successfully achieved it during the match against Karachi Kings. Notably, he is also leading the PSL side.Babar, who missed the milestone by getting out on 68 in the last game against Quetta Gladiators, became the 13th player overall to reach the 10,000-run mark in the T20 format.
