Baba Siddique, a former three-time MLA from Bandra West and member of the NCP, was shot dead outside his son’s office in Mumbai by three men during Dussehra festivities. Two suspects arrested in the killing claimed affiliation with the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, who allegedly paid them Rs 3 lakh to execute the murder. The shooters had been conducting a recce of the shooting spot for nearly a month and arrived in an auto rickshaw, firing six bullets at Siddique, who was declared dead at the hospital despite having ‘Y’ security.
