Man Charged After Surrendering in Double Homicide Case

A man has appeared in court after turning himself in to police regarding the suspected double homicide of farming couple Brendon and Trina Cole, whose bodies were found near their home in Ruatiti on December 13. The man was named a person of interest following a nearly two-week search before he presented himself at the Whanganui Police Station on Christmas Day and was arrested on an active warrant. Central District Commander Superintendent Dion Bennett confirmed that further inquiries are ongoing.
