A person has died after being buried in an avalanche near Tumbler Ridge, B.C., as reported by Avalanche Canada. The incident occurred when three snowmobilers were riding in the Bullmoose area, and the avalanche, measuring 300 metres wide by 240 metres long, was remotely triggered by one of the snowmobiles. Despite immediate rescue efforts, the individual was fully buried and did not survive, while no other injuries were reported. Tumbler Ridge is approximately 175 kilometres northeast of Prince George, B.C., and 80% of fatal avalanche accidents occur in this province.
